The MG - The Brand affected by Car Racism.

Morris Garages (MG)  -  It is a British Automobile brand now completely owned by the “Chinese” firm SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation). Hence now a victim of Car Racism. All we do is brand Chinese Products as cheap quality, but China does make a lot of good quality products too and MG is one of them.

Morris Garages has three very good vehicles in its stable.

 
 
The Hector/ Hector Plus




Hector is basically available in three seating configurations  5 seater, 6 and 7 seater called the Hector plus.

Pros
  • This is the most spacious and most feature loaded SUV in its segment.
  • Value for money.
  • Interior quality, fit and finish is on par with German rivals.
  • Ncap 5 star rated.
  • Ride quality on the 2021 Hector is very good.
  • Biggest Boot size in its class of 587 litres
  • Maintenance Costs are the lowest in the segment.
Cons
  • 360 Camera quality is bad (pixelated)
  • No four wheel drive option.
  • No diesel automatic option.
Autopedia Verdict
 
You get a 21 lakhs fully loaded automatic Hector and a 22.5 lakhs for the Hector plus on the road, which is “BIGGER” than all the listed SUV’s - VW TROC, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Skoda karoq, Jeep Compass, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks. 

With the on road price tag matching that of the Creta /Seltos top spec variant, which are comparatively much smaller vehicles than the Hector.

This was never meant to be a Creta/Seltos, skoda kushaq/VW taigun competitor. It is way bigger dimensionally. 

According to me this is the best value for money SUV to buy, “Unless” you want a proper off roading, four wheel driven SUV.

MG Hector/Hector plus is sold as the "Chevrolet Captiva" in South America and The Middle East.

The ZS EV

The ZS EV has a tested range of 419 km on a single charge.

The Gloster





The Gloster is basically available in Two seating configurations 6 and 7 seater

Pros
  • This is the most spacious and most feature loaded SUV in its segment.
  • Ncap 5 star rated.
  • Interior quality, fit and finish is on par with German rivals. (but there is a little inconsistency).
  • Third row space
  • Free Accessories upto Rs. 50,000/-
Cons
  • 360 Camera quality is bad (pixelated).
  • No Petrol Version.
  • Speaker cover quality is bad.
  • It has 12 speaker audio system but, Audio quality as such is just ok.
 
Autopedia Verdict: 
Again we have the biggest 7 seater SUV in its class. It has the most spacious and the best third row seats in the whole segment. 
 
The Ford Endeavour is priced at Rs. 41.5 lakh on the road and the Toyota Fortuner is priced at a whopping 44.5 lakh on the road.
 
Which makes the Top spec 7 seater sharp variant is the cheapest in the segment at Rs. 40.15 lakhs on the road and we get 50,000 MG points, which can utilized on accessories or service packages.
